Q. I submitted a complaint about an establishment, why was it was rejected?
A. Some specific and unsubstantiated accusations regarding food, staff or service are beyond the remit of our site and may result in prosecution. We reserve the right to refuse publication of such comments.
Q. Are Secret Diner Reviews deleted when they reach a certain age?
A. We currently archive reviews that are over 2 years old. They can still be viewed via a link on the Secret Diner Introduction page.
Q. In what order are the Establishments listed on the site?
A. Establishments are listed in descending order (i.e. highest first) of their total number of 'recommended' comments, followed by those with 'OK' comments, then those with 'not recommended' comments only. If there are no comments, these establishments follow alphabetically by name. Clicking on the column header (e.g. "Town") sorts the records by that column in descending order. Clicking again reverses the order.
Q. The 'Your Location' Setting Keeps Getting Deleted - How Can I Prevent This?
A. The 'Your Locations' function places a 'cookie' in the cookies directory (folder) on your PC, as controlled by your browser settings. This is then read each time you access 'Wheres' Good to Eat?' in order to set 'Your Locations'. The cookie may sometimes be deleted by software designed to protect your PC against viruses or because of system reorganisation. If this happens repeatedly you may need to adjust your PC/browser software settings and you should seek appropriate technical advice.
Q. Is the information I use to register a comment kept private?
A. Yes, we do not give or exchange details about any of our users with other organisations. If we request additional information for things like offers etc. we will give you the option to have it deleted after use.
