Buddysmum   Anybody know any pubs that allow dogs in whilst their owners eat a meal? All the Brewery-owned pubs ban dogs but I don't know about the free houses.   23/08/2010  Post a Reply
Desperate Dan   If I went into a restaurant and there was a dog in there I would immediately cancel my order and leave. Pointless adhering to hygiene regulations if you then allow dogs on the premises!  06/09/2010
Foxnewbee   Pardon me. Does anybody understand how to find an actual Expert Avisor from bad and a clear Forex trading signal from fake? big thanks  23/07/2010  Post a Reply

emmdee   Since my last post has nobody been to JAR Bar it's not even listed in the Pubs/Bars section? All I've heard from 'foodlover' and others is that it's not great. My son went and said they can't even make the cocktails they have on their list.  17/07/2010  Post a Reply
Cockney Paul   Just tried the new Brown's Chippy in Laxey. Fish overcooked (shouldn't be dark brown batter should it?)swimming in oil. Chips pale and anaemic and swimming in oil. 20 minute wait to be served only for the lot to go straight in the bin.  27/05/2010  Post a Reply
MeToo   What a shame - this place has been through so many changes over the last few years I was hoping they had got it right this time.  01/06/2010
Saucepot   I was very pleasantly surprised. I had a 'Moby Dick', which was huge, my pal had a kebab. We both enjoyed our meals. The service was a little slow but the place was busy and our meals were made to order. We'll be back :-)  08/06/2010
emmdee   Been 'across' and come back & find Ciappelis in Onchan & Aperitivo gone(no reviews JAR Bar)haven't tried JAR but apart from 'foodie' (1 review HMM?) the reviews are middle of the road notice 'rosy' prefers the new ciappelis Anybody else got some input?  19/05/2010  Post a Reply
foodlover   Don't waste your time mate. Old chef stayed at JAR so food is amazing at quarter of the price. Can't see many business meetings being held up at onchan head. Not bothered with JAR bar, go to courthouse for drinks or bar george.   12/07/2010
emmdee   Thanks 'foodlover' but a friend who's a regular says that the chef is the one who was in Nobles Park and then for quite a few years on the Prom. He's back and if that's right I'm going for Sunday lunch the menu on their website looks good value.  17/07/2010
Desperate Dan   Has anybody else noticed how BAD the food outlets connected with the IOM Government are? National Sports Centre; Calf Sound Cafe; Ronaldsway Airport Cafe - probably more besides......... all getting very poor comments. What does this tell us?  14/05/2010  Post a Reply
pepperpot   It's not so bad in some places - I've recently had good food at the Grove and Cregneash tearooms but the menu isn't as extensive as it used to be. The deterioration at the Sound is a travesty. It must be dependent on the staff at each venue  04/08/2010
manxbrummie   That's interesting. Perhaps the IoM Govt feel that catering is secondary to the primary reason to visit these venues. It's a bit Marie Antionettish, but it should be addressed.  15/05/2010
Coco   As far as I can tell they're all franchised by 'D's Leisure' http://www.dsleisureltd.com, owned by a Mr. K. Dobson, then sub-let, which in reality means employing a chef under regulations that are already put in place by existing management.  23/05/2010
