Introduction
We have tried to make ‘Where’s Good to Eat?’ as intuitive as possible to use and most people familiar with websites, especially ones based on databases, will need little help. It is, essentially, a list of eating places, by category (e.g. Cafes), against which the public may enter recommendations and comments. Additional information and functions are also provided, via hyperlinks, to assist the user as described below.

Category Listings (Main Menu)
The listings detail all Establishments ranked, by default, by their total number of recommendations (‘Recommended’, ‘OK’ or ‘Not Recommended’). The Sort Arrows at the head or a column (where present) can be used to change the sort order of the table (e.g. ascending alphabetic order of Establishments) by clicking on the up or down arrow.
The illustration above shows the various links on the same row as the Establishment Name that take you to additional information related to it such as the Location Map. Please note that the Location Map button is “greyed out” if there is no detailed map for that establishment, in which case an overview map of the area is displayed when it is clicked.

The Top Ten
The Top Ten eateries, listed at the foot of the Home page, are selected on the basis of consistency over a six month period using the following formula: The average number of 'Recommended' and 'OK' votes received for an Establishment, minus any 'Not Recommended' votes, are calculated over the last six months to give its score. Any Establishment which has a zero score for the last three months is then excluded and the Top Ten scores are listed, in alphabetical order. The list is revised monthly.
Please note that being in the Top Ten does not necessarily mean that an Establishment is one of the ten best places to eat. It simply means that use
rs
of ‘Where's Good to Eat?’ have consistently given it good recommendations over an extended period.
