Where's Good to Eat?

About MenuPriceWatch
A key element in finding 'Where's Good to Eat?' is, of course, price! Comments and recommendations on the site tell diners what others think about an establishment but opinions tend to be strongly influenced by price. MenuPriceWatch now provides this in a format allowing comparison of establishments so that price context can also be included.
Classification (Type)
MenuPriceWatch tables cover an area, establishment type and cuisine type so that, as far as possible, prices are compared like-with-like. Categorisations such as “Restaurant” or “Pub/Bar” cover a wide range of menu options, service and ambience so discretion should be exercised when comparing price levels. It is, however, reasonable to presume that establishments using these widely accepted classifications expect to be evaluated accordingly.
Ratings
Ratings are calculated by comparing each establishment's average price to the overall average of the area/type, as follows:
·        Less than (or equal to) 20% below the average =
·        More than (or equal to) 10% but less than 20% below the average =
·        10% above to 10% below the average =
·        More than (or equal to) 10% but less than 20% above the average =
·        More than (or equal to) 20% above the average =
The  symbol indicates that the published menu has a special offer or “deal” which, if purchased, reduces one or more prices used in the analysis. The deal/offer prices are not used in the sample used to derive the establishment average price.

Where available, menus can be viewed by clicking on the link in the menu column.
Input Date
The “Input Date” is the date the menu data was collected for MenuPriceWatch from the most up to date menu available and is intended as a guide to its currency. The publication date of the menu from which the data was collected will be prior to the input date but it may, of course, have been superseded.
Price Data Sampling
Price ratings are calculated by collecting the minimum, maximum and 5 sample prices, taken at random, from the main courses of each menu. Where multiple menus are published (e.g. lunch and evening) samples are taken from all those which are applicable.
