As Dads across the country prepare to fake surprise for the inevitable deluge of ties, socks and slippers they are about to receive, The Rib Room Bar & Restaurant is taking Father’s Day to the next level and offering a complimentary classic car with every meal.

Available for only £55 per person for lunch or dinner, exclusively on the 17th June, treat your old man to a meal he will never forget featuring a three-course modern British banquet and shiny new top-of-the-line Jaguar XJR sports car. The only catch is that he won’t be able to drive it home, even if he is teetotal, as the six-inch replica model occupies a spot on the mantelpiece far better than in the garage.

Specially created by Head Chef Ian Rudge, Dad can dine on an array of sensational starters ranging from the classic Rib Room prawn cocktail to deliciously delicate Scottish oak smoked salmon; pressed rabbit terrine with Somerset cider jelly and a witty take on ‘pea and ham soup’, featuring a combination of braised pigs cheeks, onion purée and fresh pea velouté. Moving onto the mains, carnivores can sink their teeth into seasonal produce from the four-corners of the British Isles, including slow-roasted Launceston lamb, buttered asparagus, lamb curry coquets and garlic purée, pan roasted sea trout with samphire, razor clams, cockles, shellfish or the restaurant’s signature roast rib of Casterbridge beef with Yorkshire pudding.

To finish, treat your father to a taste of Summer with heavenly desserts from the heartland of England, including Yorkshire rhubarb Bakewell tart with rhubarb ice-cream and raspberries; chocolate melloux with vanilla and yogurt ice-cream or the wonderfully refined combination of Champagne macerated strawberries, jelly, Pimm’s granite and crème fraîche.
