The Gravetye Manor Jubilee Afternoon Tea – throughout June
This June England’s original country house hotel, Gravetye Manor, celebrates the Diamond Jubilee in deeply English style fit for a Queen.
To celebrate the Queen’s 60 year reign, the chefs at Gravetye Manor have lovingly created a scrumptious tea that would have even the Queen coming back for more.
In homage to HRH, the tea includes some of the Queen’s own favourites as well as treats with a royal connection from coronation chicken – created for the coronation of Queen Victoria, cucumber sandwiches – a fixture at the Queen’s garden parties, and smoked salmon and quail egg crostinis, to Jubilee cherry tarts, Battenburg cake and mini Victoria sponges served with lashings of homemade Gravetye jam.
60 Years of Flowers – 3rd, 4th and 5th June
For one weekend only, the gardens at Gravetye Manor will be transformed into a beautiful floral exhibit featuring flower arrangements inspired by the Queen’s 60 year reign. Visitors will see influences from Constance Spry, who arranged the flowers at Westminster and along the processional route from Buckingham Palace during the Queen’s coronation, right through to more modern trends. Arrangements will be found throughout the house, the garden and even the lake.
Gravetye Manor’s Jubilee overnight stay package is available from 3rd-5th June and includes:
· Bed and Breakfast
· Dinner in the Manor’s oak panelled dining room
· Jubilee Afternoon Tea
· The chance to view Gravetye’s ’60 Years of Flowers’ exhibit
Prices start from £180 per person and are based on two people sharing.
For £25, visitors may also visit Gravetye Manor over the Jubilee weekend to treat themselves and their loved ones to afternoon tea and the chance to view Gravetye’s floral exhibit.
