Pavilion Restaurant, Port St Mary Golf Club Castletown
Its a long way to Port St Mary so its a once a year visit (: Tried the steak pie and trifle this time. OK but only average. My better half stuck to the fish which was better (I nicked a taste). Sorry but can't give it more than a -.

Harbour Bistro Ramsey
Must be a year since we were here. The choir lunch where the Bistro opens especially is a firm favourite with all. The choice is limited but the food and presentation was excellent and the quiet service admirable. I see they have started takeaways

Golden Mile Restaurant Ramsey
Exactly a year since last visit. Not a coincidence it is our wedding anniversary (: Buffet still excellent value and 'all you can eat' means what it says. No apple cider so staff went out and bought some in! Good service.

Pavilion Restaurant, Port St Mary Golf Club Castletown
Beautiful venue when fine. Fish excellent, batter perhaps less so but lemon roulade very tasty indeed. Price the same as last year so will upgrade to thumbs up.

Harbour Lights (Douglas) Douglas
Excellent venue for pre Gaiety dinner. Booked in at 1730 but restuarant full by 1800hrs so booking essential. Menu seems identical to the sister place in Ramsey and the large gammon meant no room for other courses. Good service, pleasant experience.

Milntown Cafe & Restaurant Ramsey
Had lunch as we had booked for the house tour. The Swedish platter consisted of 6 different fish species nicely presented with new potatoes on the side. Criticism would be for the ginger beer which at £1.80 for 2/3 glass (inc ice) was OTT.

The Cat That Café St. Johns
Ideal on a hot afternoon. Sat in the garden and enjoyed a whippy with a pot of tea. Helpful service from young man. Could be chilly on a cold day due through drafts but just what you needed on a sunny one.

Golden Mile Restaurant Ramsey
All you can eat for £15. Soup, starters and main(s). Presentation, service and cooking all excellent. After each course was asked if we would like to try other dishes. Even the Magners at £3 was the correct price. Go - you're worth it :)

Domino's Pizza Douglas
Had not appreciated there was a Domino's franchise on island until I won a pizza on Manx Radio. Good location opposite NSC and a wide range of fillings and side dishes. Huge serving for 4 and they split the filling, half plainish and half spicey!

Eden Park Garden Centre Cafe St. Johns
When you bear in mind that this is the only establishment in the area for people visiting B&Q, Robinsons et al, you would think Eden could do more, try harder and give better value for money.

Pavilion Restaurant, Port St Mary Golf Club Castletown
I wonder if I'm becoming a meanie? Is £15.50 the right price for fish n chips and ice cream at lunch time? Perhaps I am spoiled as an OAP with Ramsey's reduced specials in several establishments........

Nobles Hospital Cafe Douglas
Just a filter coffee and a hot chocolate after an appointment. No problems. If you want a snack I recommend the crumpets but the home made soup is also tasty. Staff training re presentation and ambiance may well enhance the experience!

Golden Phoenix Ramsey
Thumbs up minus. Noodles excellent but Cantonese lemon chicken a bit bland and fried rice so so. However, 5 minutes turnround so just time to eat the mint imperial and glance at the daily paper....

Harbour Bistro Ramsey
Although not normally open on a Sunday, special parties can book restaurant for a meal. Restricted choice of pate/veg soup, pork/salmon. profiteroles/cheese with coffee still made a nutritious and filling Sunday lunch. Full menu is much enhanced!

The Aviator Cheltenham
Locals and travellers alike flock to this venue for either a quick bite or a full meal. Had a spicey noodle Chinese dish and my wife had crispy duck. All fine washed down by Stowford cider.

Pearl Harbour Restaurant Southampton
Remembered this Chinese restaurant from a visit to Southampton a few years ago. Pleased to see it still there and food at a decent standard. The decor has suffered a bit and could do with a makeover. As before note that this is where Chinese eat!

The Priory Bristol
Good ambience. Log fires (real!) Excellent draft Suffolk cider Aspall.Special 2 course lunch for £8 is a bargain and there is a full a la carte. Packed on Saturday so get there early to bag a good table. You can walk there from motorway services.

Welcomebreak Group Ltd Bristol
Motorway service centres rarely serve palatable food but this one cooked to order within 10 minutes and produced fish n chips and a lamb shank that was hot, tasty and filling for about £8 each. A BK and KFC also on-site.

Milntown Cafe & Restaurant Ramsey
The special fish pakora was quite unusual and a nice change although the helping was a bit small. Cheese and biscuits consisted of a good selection but the cheese should not be just out of the fridge! Bread & butter pudding a good alternative.

Harbour Lights (Ramsey) Ramsey
Two course lunch for £16 with very large portions - perhaps too large! As a member of a group where nobody had a starter there was a short wait but the service was excellent once the meal commenced.
