PIZZA HUT - Trafford Centre
Ground Floor, 12 The Orient, Trafford Centre, Manchester, M17 8EB
We arrived at the Trafford Centre Pizza Hut just after 5 on Sunday afternoon. We were seated straight away and given 2 adult’s menus and 2 children’s menus.
The children wanted to sit outside but unfortunately that section was closed off. My daughter loves that section as the pillars look Egyptian and she likes climbing over them. I asked a member of staff if the Kids Eat Free promotion was running that day. I was surprised that the Kids eat Free promotion was running with it being a bank holiday. This promotion gave the children a free salad and main course as well as a drink as long as a main course was purchased from the main menu for each adult.
There was plenty of choice on both the adult and children’s menu. The children choose margherita pizza and a fruit shoot, I chose the Alfredo Pollo pasta and my companion chose a medium margherita pizza. We took advantage of the free refills on the soft drinks. The fun filled activity books kept both children busy until the food arrived. The boxes game provided the most amusement for the older child whilst my daughter was occupied by noughts and crosses and by colouring in the cardboard chef’s hat which was given to her with her children’s menu.
There was a 10 to 15 minute wait before our waitress came to our table to take our food and drinks order, but our drinks were then brought over within 5 minutes. Our waitress brought crayons to our table for the children without being asked which was great. The food arrived 10 minutes after we ordered it. I quickly finished my pepsi but our waitress did not notice when she brought the food to our table and wandered off too quickly for me to ask for another one.
My little girl arrived at the salad bar before me and a waitress was all set to help her choose some items which was lovely of her. The salad bar had a good selection of items including about half a dozen salad dressings. The children‘s salad bowl portions were just right and their pizzas were a good size. Both children quickly finished their main course and really enjoyed it. My companion could not finish his margherita pizza. He said it was very tasty. My pasta was delicious and the portion size generous. I struggled to finish it, in fact I was so full I did not fancy one of their delicious desserts.
Our waitress did not collect our plates for fifteen minutes after we finished our main course which was rather slow, however, she brought the bowls over for the ice cream factory less than 5 minutes after taking our dessert order as well as a refill for my companion’s pepsi. Both children filled their bowls with delicious ice cream, sweets and sauces. There were 3 choices of sweets and about the same sauces wise. My daughter dropped her spoon and the waitress quickly brought her over a replacement. All the staff were very good with the children. The older child even went back for a second helping of icecream.
All in all it was a pleasant experience and at a very reasonable cost, just £20.58. This included drinks, 2 starters, 4 main courses and 2 desserts. The service could have been quicker at times but the staff were friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food was delicious and met everyone’s approval.
