Where's Good to Eat?

Hand Fried Potato Chips

BURTS

Burts-Salt--2526-Vinegar-LR-1-.jpgThis range of potato crisps are nicely presented in simple colour-coded bags, in two useful sizes – but why the Americanism “chips”? These present themselves proudly as being made in Devon, by a British company, using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. We call them Crisps!

But, having crunched my way through a fair selection I can report that these are nice crisps! The flavours are easily distinguishable and identifiable, the crisps themselves crunchy and delicious.

Burts-Sea-Salted-LR-1--(1).jpgDespite all the enticing flavours, my favourite was the plain sea-salted. These tasted old fashioned and evocative – taking me back to my childhood. But I can definitely recommend the others as being just that bit different – Mature Cheddar rather than the traditional Cheese & Onion, and the new interesting summer flavour Pesto.

The flavours I tested were: Sea Salted, Pesto, Mature Cheddar, Salt & Black Pepper, Salt & Vinegar, Smoked Streaky bacon, and Sweet Red Paprika. For purists there is also a No Salt version.
