PENN STATE PRETZELS

Fire up the BBQ and pack up the picnic basket, summer has arrived - well, almost. Despite the fact that the weather hasn’t been up to much so far, the UK’s leading pretzel brand, Penn State Snacks, tells us that they have something to brighten up everyone’s day with its tasty pretzel flavours.
PS-175g-Gammon--Mustard-visual-resized.jpgAnd the new Gammon & Mustard pretzels do offer a tasty twist on a popular family favourite. Baked, not fried, this low fat limited edition flavour provides a healthier alternative to crisps and other snack foods, but is full of flavour.

Share-size snack packs of 175g retail at £1.29 and are available to buy in Waitrose stores throughout the summer.

And as the nights draw in this winter, this flavour would also lend itself well to cosy nights in with family and friends. Albeit a while off yet, this snack for all seasons will be available to buy in ASDA stores over the festive period too.

Steve Harger, from Intersnack, the company behind the Penn State brand said: “Our new Gammon & Mustard flavour pretzels offer the perfect social snack. Imagine family get togethers, sharing these snacks round all your guests – whatever the weather, this popular flavour is bound to get everyone talking. Here at Penn State Snacks, we pride ourselves on the fact that we listen to what the consumer wants. After carrying out extensive research, we discovered that people were looking for an extra kick to their healthy snacks and that’s where the Gammon & Mustard flavour originated from. As with all our products, the new flavour is low in fat and much better for you than other snacks on the market – a great excuse to indulge in some guilt-free snacking!”

right_image_brand_sc.jpgPenn State Snacks is experiencing a period of expansion as it develops its range further with additional pretzel flavours including Worcester Sauce and half-coated chocolate. Their large range also includes Original Sea Salted and Sour Cream & Chive – all thoroughly taste tested by the family and all thoroughly enjoyed! And with a clear conscience too, all flavours contain less than 10% fat and only 110 calories and only three WeightWatchers ProPoints per 25 gram serving.

As the first company to produce pretzels in the UK, Penn State started production of their signature original sea salted pretzel flavour back in 1996 and since then, their popularity has steadily grown and the Great British pretzel now has a firm fan base.
