All I had to do was add boiling water, stir and wait a few minutes before I could test for myself – or so I thought from the blurb and the “just add boiling water, stir and enjoy” on the lid. But reading the instructions I find that after adding the boiling water and stirring, you had to cover this one and leave for ten minutes! Not long admittedly, but longer than instantaneous enjoyment.

This one, the first I tried, was the
bulgar wheat & quinoa wholesome pot (with tomatoes, black olives & a pinch of basil). This was certainly a healthy and filling snack, but the flavour didn’t actually do a lot for me, I felt as if it lacked something and was sorely tempted to add some salt, which would have defeated the whole object. It would have been nice as an accompaniment for a juicy steak, but on its own it didn’t really satisfy.
However, the second one tested,
couscous & lentil wholesome pot (with tomatoes, red peppers & lightly spiced with cumin) was much more to my taste, and only required a five minute wait. It was very tasty, filling and enjoyable. I would question the ‘lightly spiced’ regarding the cumin. It was actually quite hot – but suited my palate so it wasn’t a problem for me.
So my verdict is that these are a good product, useful and filling. Others may choose different versions as their favourite as this is a very subjective thing. But overall – a thumbs up!
